Mobile News & Reviews / Mobile Telecom News / WP7 will shoot at second by 2015, iOS and BlackBerry will lose ground
The market analysts from IDC have published their prediction on the smartphone market expansion in the upcoming five years. It seems like the IDC Company has some kind of witch spell as we can’t justify how besides they are able to make such long-term calculations in quite a dynamic market. Anyway below is the extraction of the company’s prediction:
- Windows Phone 7: Windows Phone 7 will shoot to the second spot in the line-up of global market of smartphones, in the upcoming four years after 2011 when it reaches the market share of 5.5%. For the second spot, windows phone 7 will have to maintain an average growth of 67% per year in anticipation of 2015, so it can outdo Symbian, BlackBerry and iOS in the smartphone ranking. Moreover, Nokia’s partnership will sure turn out something good and is the back stand to secure this impressive growth rate for windows phone 7, as per analysts
- Android: On the top spot there is Android OS but it has to be concerned since it will be looming a 40% market share in the roll over of this year. An increase in sales by 23.8% above each of the later four years will let it enlarge that even advance to an anticipated 45.4% in 2012 when Nokia is believed to step in to make a big move by introducing WP7 mobiles
- Symbian: Simultaneously the WP 7 will go up with Nokia; Symbian will have to afford some outflow which will be hastily diminishing in the years to approach. The Nokia platform will be down to 20.9% before 2011 will end and with a 0.2% market share, Symbian will almost become extinct in 2015.
- iOS (will go down): The sales of iOS devices will be exceeding by 17.1% a year in anticipation of 2015, but that would essentially implies they are underperforming the market. Due to this it will direct them to a small ground losing in their market share thus as a result iOS will be running on 15.3% of all smartphones in 2015
- BlackBerry (will go down): On the same hand Blackbery will also be accompanying iOS to lose the ground, while the sales of their products will be exceeding by 18.8% a year till the time 2015 comes, but they are as well performing below the level hence as a result blackberry will be operating 13.7% of all smartphones in 2015.
- BADA OS & webOS: BADA and webOS both have to dig their best to make them counted in the smartphones OS portfolio, where BADA stands for the world’s second largest manufacturer.
