Now, the marks on land have been stretched by Ufone with their announcement of MyMail service to check email via SMS on 30 December 2010. With this service, you are able to manage your e-mail VIA SMS on those handsets which are not equipped with internet support.

How many E-Mail service does it support ?

Ufone stated that MyMail service can currently support Hotmail, Yahoo, G-Mail and MSN which are the basic services for E-mailing and general in use.

Who can use this service, and is there any place for freebie ?

Pre-Paid and Post-Paid, both users can avail this service and first month subscription till 30th Jan 2011 will be free.

How many E-mail accounts you can use at once ?

MyMail allows you to send/receive emails from one or more specified email addresses and have them transmitted as flash message to any mobile number. A consistent gateway (USSD) will be used to send and receive emails on mobiles phones screen in seconds.

Subscription: As an initial step to subscribe to this service Dial *88#

Selection of E-Mail: When subscribed, you might have your preference for which email you want to configure first. Mainly you can select from Hotmail, Yahoo, G-Mail and MSN.

Your ID and Password: Enter your ID and Password after you configure your e-mail, for example if you configured to gmail then enter This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . However the System will also accept the ID only for instance example. Wait, aren’t you thinking that this information is confidential or not ? If so, then no need to worry because User ID and password will be kept confidential at all times.

At last you will be able to use your e-mail account without any sort of glitches. But MyMail will display new emails only once the account is configured. You can also configure more emails addresses and unsubscribe from service through setup menu.

Service Rules

• E-Mail validity: Email validity in MyMail is 30 days; once mentioned time has elapsed system will automatically remove old emails from the Inbox.

• International Roaming: Service is not available on international roaming.

• E-Mail address swappable: Only one email account can be configured against one MSISDN. Users have the option to change the email address from setup menu.

• Availability of E-Mails: MSN, Hotmail, Yahoo & Gmail accounts are available at the moment but more accounts will be added in the near outlook.

• Characters allowed (sending): 179 Characters can be sent in an email (Compose).

• Characters allowed (receiving): There are no limitations of characters for incoming emails.

• Image Support: Images cannot be displayed.

Charges

• Dialing *88#: Pre-paid users will be charged Rs.0.05+Tax for dialing *88#. For post-pay users initiation request will be free.

• Subscription charges (after free period): Rs.5+Tax/Week for Prepaid, Rs.20+Tax/Month for Post-pay will be applicable once free trail period has elapsed.

• Menu browsing Charges: No menu browsing charges are applicable for both Pre-paid and Post-pay users.
